New boost for PGA of Belgium and PGA Holland Junior program

SPIJK/BRUSSELS - From now on the PGAs of Belgium and Holland Junior programs will continue under a new name: GOLFSIXES LEAGUE PGA Belgium and GOLFSIXES LEAGUE PGA Holland. The name change is part of the cooperation that both PGAs have agreed to with the European Tour, the Ladies European Tour, the R&A and the Ryder Cup Development Trust.

Junior golfers are the future.  Both PGAs have entered into a conversation with Frederik Lindgren, organizer of the Junior Ryder Cup and of the European Tour and have teamed up. Together they will give the PGA Junior program in both countries a boost under a new name. The PGAs and the European Tour offer youth golfers the chance to play golf as a team experience with the GOLFSIXES LEAGUE initiative. This competition form was received very enthusiastically by PGA golf professionals, youth golfers under the age of 13 and their parents. In this way, golf is presented as a team sport. Something that is attractive to children and parents, like football and hockey.

GOLFSIXES LEAGUE is a Texas Scramble matchplay, played in teams. Teams consist of six boys and girls of 13 years and under with handicaps 36+. The children have a lot of fun, share high fives and are very enthusiastic about playing together and helping each other.

GolfSixes League will be supported by the R&A, the European Tour, the Ladies European Tour and the Ryder Cup Development Trust as part of their efforts to promote the game to children.

Entries are accepted until 1 March.  Clubs can register with a cluster of 3-5 clubs in the region.  For more information, please contact info@pga.be
